Objectives

The students will be qualified to code a computer program for the solution of the wave equation or the elasto-dynamic equations of motion on their own. This includes to design numerical experiments taking all relevant parameters into account.

Content

Programming of finite-difference and spectral methods for the simulation of seismic waves in elastic media. Boundary conditions. Sources.

Language

German or English (will be announced at the beginning of the course)
