Abstract:
The Wave Inversion Technology consortium is an international group of scientist and was established in 1997. Teams from Germany, Norway and Brazil are developing the most accurate and efficient target-oriented modelling and imaging using seismic and acoustic methods (for details see the WIT homepage ). The WIT consortium is sponsored by several national and international companies of the hydrocarbon industry and represents the effort to transform basic research results into solutions of problems encountered in hydrocarbone exploration and production. Another important goal of the consortium is the integration of education and research and to provide highly skilled graduates for the hydocarbon industry.
Duration:
hopefully for many years to come, established in 1997 at the University of Karlsruhe. Since 1.1.2007 the WIT head office is located at the University of Hamburg.
Funding:
Companies of the hydrocarbon industry. For the current list of sponsors, see the WIT homepage
